鬥牛
血腥體育（英語：blood sport）泛指任何高機率會發生流血、傷殘或死亡的競技或觀賞性體育運動[1]，主要依賴用暴力和蠻力的視覺展示激發觀眾各種嗜血的應激反應，用刺激腎上腺素的分泌產生快感滿足娛樂心理需求。血腥體育包括各種格鬥運動、鬥獸和各類涉及殺戮或的戶外運動（比如狩獵和不放流的捕魚），其中歷史上最著名、最高調、最血腥的賽項是古羅馬的角鬥士。

非法格鬥[編輯]
地下格鬥俱樂部
非法格鬥也稱地下格鬥或「黑拳」，泛指一切不受法律和官方規則監管的格鬥體育賽事。現今的合法賽事通常都有很嚴格的安全措施，防止選手受到過重的傷害；但非法的賽事通常沒有保護措施，甚至希望多流血來吸引受眾，因此對選手危險性極高，傷殘死亡時有發生。而且非法項目大多涉及賭博，並且時常有黑社會參與洗錢。聚眾組織非法格鬥的場所俗稱「搏擊俱樂部」（fight club）。

雖然現代體育講究安全和道德化，許多血腥體育仍然在一些地區屬於合法，比如鬥牛和鬥雞[2][3]，其支持者通常喜歡用文化傳統為其辯護[4]。比如鬥牛的支持者們（稱作aficionado）就將鬥牛看做一種文化活動而不是體育運動[5]，或者稱之為「悲劇奇觀」（因為鬥牛士總有命懸一線的風險，而公牛最終也會被殺死）。
休閒狩獵和捕魚[編輯]

動物權利和動物福利的支持者主張把「血腥體育」的概念擴張到各種休閒狩獵，特別是戰利品狩獵[6]，所涉及的動物幾乎都會被殺死，將動物的身體部位割走做成戰利品也可以被看做是一種虐屍。即使是使用麻醉槍的生態狩獵，也會因為心搏停止、窒息等併發症死亡，或因為跌倒造成的器官損傷、麻醉延遲消退影響行動力而造成動物機體功能下降，從而更容易遭到捕食、受傷和溺水無法長期存活[7][8]。此外，一些用過度威力的大口徑槍械射擊小型動物、故意延長動物傷痛、甚至專門追求讓目標血肉橫飛或被槍彈肢解的獵殺行為已經違反了正常的狩獵倫理，也可以被視作是純粹用虐待動物追求感官刺激的不道德血腥體育。
休閒捕魚也常常被指控是一種血腥體育，因為釣魚使用的魚鉤或多或少會對魚嘴、魚鰓和魚喉造成創傷[9]，而魚被拉出水面時掙扎和無法呼吸也受到折磨，同時被魚線懸掛都能對魚的頜骨和脊椎的韌帶和肌肉造成拉傷。儘管西方休閒捕魚者常常會釣獲放流，仍有證據證明有平均六分之一的魚被釋放後會死亡[10]到五分之一[11]，特別是被從深水區強行拉到淺水的底棲魚類[12][13]。如果在釣魚者持魚的方式不恰當，死亡率可能超過四成[13]。而如果捕魚者使用的是錨魚、刺魚、刨魚、射魚或棒擊等直接造成致命貫穿傷或鈍傷的方法，則百分之百符合血腥體育的概念範疇。
